Founded in 1915, Electrotehnica has expanded its fabrication area from simple electrical installation, transformers, coils, magnetic amplifiers for automatic control systems (made before the advent of thyristor), motors, welding equipment to high performance power electronics equipment.

Electrotehnica designs and manufactures equipments for various technological applications, mostly highly complex, which provides electric energy conversion by changing the power supply parameters (amount, frequency and waveform) or its conversion into another form of energy (mechanical, chemical, radiant, thermal etc.). Electrotehnica is the main Romanian manufacturer of electrical equipments, transformers and coils, with almost 100 years experience in the field.
